6th May 2012 - PMC Announce the introduction of glide from Glide Practice Solutions.

PMC have been appointed distributors for the glide practice workflow system for busy accounting firms.   Many firms have expressed a wish to be able to monitor, control and optimise the flow of work through their offices, but have been put off by the complexity and the overhead of sustaining current computerised systems.   While many practice management systems offer some sort of job control system, they fail to be implemented because they are too time-consuming to set up and maintain.  Instead, the practicioner will resort to a series of spreadsheets for position keeping. An adequate solution for firms with few staff and a limited number of jobs, once staff levels rise above 15 spread sheets become a less and less satisfactory.   They are not secure, rely on entries being manually saved to disk, and can generally only be updated by one user. Morever, they are passive systems, and do not proactively aid either manager or staffmember.

GLiDE has been built as a low-cost, low-maintenance system to tackle this problem.   Running in a web-browser so that it can be securely accessed from anywhere in the world, it knows the status of every job in the firm, automatically calculates filing deadlines and makes sure these are never missed.  Information is built up as the system is used, and status changes are typically effected with a single mouse-click!  This information provides a degree of control that partners and managers have hitherto only dreamed of.   The system is so powerful that managers can easily re-route work to colleagues if staff members are indesposed.

We shall shortly be featuring a case study of a top 20 firm who are deploying the system throughout all of their offices.  GLiDE is currently available to run on the business's servers, and will be available on a SaaS/Cloud basis in the very near future.  For more details see GLiDE Details

3rd April 2011 - mailapprover V2.0 now available!

Email authors now receive a date/time stamped copy of approved emails, so they have a record of when the message left the building. The copy message also includes the name of the approver, providing your firm with an internal record of the review/approval process.

MailApprover now disables itself if it cannot detect the user is a member of any of the special security groups. This means that MailApprover can be deployed on every PC in an organisation, but then selectively enabled for a single department - This is particularly valuable for Terminal Server/Citrix installations.

8th November 2011 - 1st enhancement release of mailapprover now available!

v1014 now available, with some small enhancements.  V2.0 is now being specificed which will see, among other enchancements, the BCC's copy of approved emails sent to the author displaying a text block that confirms the name of the approver and the time and date of approval. This will provide an embedded record of the approval to further improve the audit trail. Tooltips will be provided on approval buttons to provide visual feedback of the destination when the button is clicked.   Finally, a category will be applied to emails so that MS Outlook rules can be used to detect MailApprover messages.  This will give options for user-defined actions such as copying the messages to specfic custom folders.

1st September 2011 - PMC appointed to distribute CVC's mailapprover!

We are thrilled to be able to offer a really usefule piece of software which wont break the bank!  mailapprover is a plug-in for email systems based on the Microsoft Exchange based email systems in use in most firms.  It allows the firm to nominate senior reviewers, to whom emails to clients a first routed so that they can check that the emails are consistent with the firms policies and that any advice they contain will not contravene compliance rules or render the firm liable to malpractice litigation.   Emails can be passed on to the client with a single click without altering the "from address" or returned to the sender with a note.
